Description
English: Arms of Turner of Halberton in Devon: Sable, a chevron ermine between three fers-de-moline or on a chief argent a lion passant gules (Vivian, Lt.Col. J.L., (Ed.) The Visitation of the County of Devon: Comprising the Heralds' Visitations of 1531, 1564 & 1620, Exeter, 1895, p.741). Compare arms of the Turnour family, Earls of Winterton: Ermines, on a cross quarterly pierced argent four fers-de-molines sable. A fer-de-moline or millrind is the central element of a mill stone, which turns to grind flour. Hence canting arms.
