Summary

Description
English: Two trout lilies (Erythronium americanum) blooming, on woods floor above streambank, showing the dark-red stamens, recurved yellow petals, and the characteristic pair of gray-green and brownish speckled leaves (trout-like). Also called dog-tooth violet, from the shape of the bulb, but is not a violet. Duke Forest Korstian Division, Durham North Carolina.
