Summary

Description
English: Tollcross Clock The Tollcross Clock dates from 1901. It was one of four similar pillar clocks made by the Edinburgh clockmakers, James Ritchie & Son. Originally a pendulum clock, it became spring-driven in 1926, being wound once weekly, and was converted to an electric mechanism in 1969. Junction improvements in 1974 led to its removal, but after great public pressure it was resited close to its original position.
