Summary
DescriptionTlos Theatre 5455.jpg |
English: The theatre of Tlos's construction seems to have lasted 150 years, Ophramoas of Rhodiapolis and Licinnius of Oenaonda were Lycian philanthropists who contributed to its completion. In two sections 38 rows of seats could seat 5600 viewers. It is of Roman design, and had a single diazoma and an arched entrance in the south. I could not find a date.
The stage building was in ruins when I visited, but there was a large collection of fragments of its decoration all around. This is one of the better. |
