Summary

Description

In this the anniversary of the 1916 Rising here is one of the leaders who was executed in Kilmainham Gaol. While we confessed to knowing very little about McDonagh personally, [/photos/129555378@N07/ sharon.corbet],[/photos/gnmcauley/ Niall McAuley] and [/photos/47297387@N03/ Carol Maddock] pointed us to a trove of information on the poet, activist and revolutionary - who would be executed within a year of this image. A special thanks to [/photos/91549360@N03/ O Mac] whose eagle-eyes and memory confirmed that this image is an extract/crop of another Keogh shot - of the funeral committee that McDonagh had a significant role in. This confirmation allows us to refine the date and map the image....
