Summary

Description
English: The Old Rectory, Himley, Staffordshire This large building, built in the 1760s (?) is almost as big as the church (hidden behind) it served. A local observer adds, "This building is now a private residence having been sold by the Church of England in the 1950s. It is mentioned, in passing, in Pevsner's Buildings of Staffordshire. The garden was once visited, when the building was still a working rectory, by Queen Mary. Recent Swindon and Himley (Swimley) Parish news carried a version of its history. The Rectory for the parish is now at Swindon."
