Summary

Description
English: The Moine Thrust at Knockan Crag One of the most significant geological features in Scotland can be seen here. Pale Cambrian limestones of about 500 million years age are overlain by Moine schists, which are nearer 1000 million years in age. Huge tectonic plate movements have pushed the schists up and over the younger rocks and caused this 'upside down' unconformity.
