Summary

Description
English: The Heart of Low Harrogate The road junction by the Royal Pump Room is close to the centre of where this part of the town first developed. The Pump Room of 1842 was where visitors congregated to take the waters [this is recommended to any reader with a strong constitution - the smell is of bad eggs and the taste is little better]. Behind to the left is the 1870 extension to the Crown Hotel, whilst to the right is Royal Parade. A corner of the Stray can just be seen through the gap.
