This image is of a cover of an audio recording, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher of the work or the artist(s) which produced the recording or cover artwork in question. Rationale of fair use[edit]

The image Image:The Big Music Waterboys Single Cover.jpg is being linked here; though the picture is originally copyright, I (Jkelly 23:45, 24 February 2006 (UTC)) feel it is covered by fair use because:

1. No free or public domain images have been located for this album.
2. The image is of lower resolution than the original cover. Copies made from it will be of inferior quality, and could not be used as artwork on illegal CD copies of the single.
3. The image does not limit the copyright owners' rights to distribute the album in any way.
4. For an article about an album, the cover artwork is arguably one of the most important images that could be included. This is the artwork, intended by Ensign Records for wide distribution. As such, it has future historical significance, and is a more appropriate choice than any other image available. Further, this particular single was a defining one for The Waterboys and its use in that article (along with the article A Pagan Place; an article about the album this single is from), discusses this single's significance being identified by its cover.
5. This image is used on various websites, so its use on Wikipedia does not make it significantly more accessible or visible than it already is. The cover is being used for informational purposes only, and its use is not believed to detract from the original album in any way.
