Description
English: Fragment of textile or carpet from Loulan, Xinjiang province, China, dated to 3rd-4th century AD. The wool fragment was retrieved from a refuse heap in Loulan, Xinjiang, China, by the Hungarian-British archaeologist Sir Marc Aurel Stein in 1906-1908. The object was among those discovered by Stein's second Central Asian Expedition, partially financed by the governments of India and of Great Britain.
