1. Cover art, for identification and critical commentary
2. No free equivalent is available, or could be created, which would serve the same encyclopedic purpose to illustrate the cover art for this series of books. The image cannot be replaced by a different one which has the same effect.
3. The image is not used in a manner likely to replace the original market role of the original media which may still be copyrighted.
4. As few uses of the image as possible are included in Wikipedia: this rationale applies only to Badminton Library. One use in that article only will suffice and it is used only as necessary.
5. A low-resolution image is used, and could not be used for piracy.
6. The image has been previously published outside Wikipedia.
7. It meets general Wikipedia content requirements and is encyclopedic.
8. It meets the Wikipedia:Image use policy.
