Summary

Description
English: Map showing the magnetic anomaly in Temagami, Ontario. The Anomaly is the larger of the two pink spots near the middle of the image (the other pink spot being the Sudbury Basin).

Gravity and aeromagnetic contains ground field reading of gravity strengths and airborne surveys of magnetic strengths from across the province of Ontario.

Beginning in 1947, systematic aeromagnetic surveys were conducted over the whole of Ontario. The surveys were performed for the Geological Surveys of Canada and the Ontario Department of Mines and completed in 1987. Also beginning in 1947, ground gravity data were collected across Ontario by Federal-Provincial programs and external initiatives.

Digital gravity data were provided by Geodetic Survey Division, Geomatics Canada, Natural Resources Canada and Ontario Geological Survey.

Survey Parameters: Line spacing: 800 m (half-mile) Magnetic survey type: total field Magnetometer height: 300 m (1000 ft) Gravity survey: yes
