Description
English: Tangiwai Rail Bridge on the North Island Main Trunk, facing the direction of Wellington. Site of the Tangiwai railway disaster on Christmas Eve 1953. A concrete pier belonging to the bridge destroyed in the disaster is visible under the current bridge.
