Parkın eşiğinde bir otel belirdi. Taksim Vakıflar Oteli, İnönü Gezisi'nde (Taksim Parkı), mimar Rüknettin Güney'in Taksim Belediye Gazinosu'nun bulunduğu yere yapıldı. Otelin yapılabilmesi için belediyenin mülkiyetinde olan arsa Vakıflar Bankası'na satıldı. Otel için açılan sınırlı mimarlık yarışmasını 1959 başında Türkiye'den AHE Grubu kazandı. 27 Mayıs’ın ardından yatırım durduruldu. Daha sonra kurulan Taksim Otelcilik A.Ş. Sheraton ile anlaştı. 1968'de temeli atılan inşaat 1975’te sonlandı. Taksim Meydanı 1960’lar
