滝行（たきぎょう）とは滝に入って行う修行のことである。水垢離の一つ。

文化 [編集]

密教や修験道、神道の修行方法の一つとして行われている。 

方法 [編集]

着替えを行う。服は白装束がよく使われる。 滝に向かって礼を行う。 気合を入れる、真言や経、祝詞を唱える。 滝の前に進み、身を水につける（水行）。 滝つぼに入り気合を入れる。はじめは冷たさや衝撃で苦しいがそれをこらえる。 徐々に苦しさが消えてゆき水に打たれる感覚だけが残る。 滝から出て体を拭き、身を暖める。 

意義 [編集]

滝という激しい水の中では雑念が湧く余裕すらなくなる。精神統一が行いやすい。 自然と向き合い自然と一体化する体験を得る。 

注意事項 [編集]

自然の川には石や木など様々な物が流れている。当然、滝の上からそのような物が落下してくる可能性がある。 感覚が麻痺してくるため長時間行ってしまい身体を冷やす危険性がある。5分程度でも滝と一体化する効果は得られる。 経験豊富な指導者のもとで、行なうこと。
