Summary

Description
English: On the day of his execution, December 2, 1859, John Brown wrote his last prophecy and passed it to a jailer. This is an albumen print; the location of the original is unknown. In 1904 it was reported to be in the possession of Miss Lou Cartwright, Hudson, Ohio (Wichita Daily Eagle, January 31, 1904, p. 12).

I John Brown am now quite certain that the crimes of this guilty, land: will never be purged away; but with Blood. I had as I now think: vainly flattered myself that without very much bloodshed; it might be done.
