Summary

Description
English: Front of a postcard with an early 20th century photograph of Swedes' Landing (also known as "The Rocks") along the Christina River in Wilmington, Delaware. This is the area where the ships Kalmar Nyckel and Fogel Grip arrived in March 1638 carrying Swedes and Finns to establish the New Sweden Colony in North America. Judging by the logo on the back of the postcard, it was published by the Souvenir Post Card Company as one of their "Souvochrome" branded cards. The used postcard was postmarked (on the backside) in Wilmington during May 1914. The Rocks/Fort Christina monument erected in March 1903 by the Delaware Society of Colonial Dames of America is visible, so the photograph dates between March 1903–May 1914. Today, Fort Christina State Park, a part of First State National Historical Park, includes much of the area in the photograph.
Date between March 1903–May 1914
