English: Parish of St. James the Apostle[1] (Fr. Vic Lopez Street, Poblacion, under Rev. Fr. Jose Dennis A. Espejo: first built in 1599, rebuilt in 1722 (after being destroyed by a lightning bolt) by Fr. Tomas Quijano and 1772 (after being burned) and was repaired after heavy damage from the June 3, 1863 earthquake; the convent was made the American headquarters in 1898[2]
