English: Queen Elizabeth II and her Lady-in-Waiting arrive at a Women's Reception at Brisbane City Hall, 1954 Mrs Nell Gair, wife of the Premier of Queensland, greets The Queen and her Lady-in-Waiting, Lady Pamela Mountbatten, as they arrive at the Brisbane City Hall for a Women's Reception on Wednesday 17 March 1954. More than 2,500 women attended the welcome in the City Hall Auditorium, which was jointly hosted by the Lord Mayor's wife, Mrs Frank Roberts, and Mrs Gair. The Queen, who received 160 floral gifts from the guests, wore a lemon frock and a gold and green wattle hat. (Description supplied with photograph.).
