Summary

Description
English: A large stamp mill used to crush gold ore at the Treadwell mine in Alaska. Compare File:Földrajzi Közlemények 1902-XXX-IV, Treadwell aranybánya (aranymosó).jpg where this or a similar setup is photographed in or after use. The present photograph is probably much older than its publication date and looks like it might be from the inauguration of the mill.
