Summary

Description
English: St John the Baptist, Hoxton, near to Shoreditch, Islington, Great Britain. St John the Baptist's church was built between 1822 and 1826 to serve the growing population of the area - creating a separate parish of Hoxton from what was previously Shoreditch. To this day the boundary between Hoxton and Shoreditch seems somewhat confused, not helped by the fact that this was for many years all part of the Borough of Shoreditch - now absorbed into Hackney (even though Hackney is definitely nowhere near here!).
