Summary

Description Interior of the Church of St John the Divine, Calder Grove, Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England. Designed in 1892 by William Swinden Barber. This is an old print from a glass negative, dated before 1914, looking east to the chancel. It shows the original 1892 stencil and spirit frescoes on the walls by Powell of Leeds and designed by Barber (now painted over). If you zoom in, you can see the stencils on the rood beam as well - they were still there as of 2014, although faded.
