Summary
| Description |
English: St. Germain's House, Longniddry. East Lothian, Scotland. Originally built in the late 12th century as a hospital of the order of the Star of Bethlehem. Knights Templar are believed to have used the hospital.
A chapel for worship may have been built adjacent to the house. The hospital fell in to ruin and the lands later passed through many illustrious East Lothian families, including the Setons, Lauders and Andersons. In the early 20th century, the Tennent family of brewing fame bought the house. During the 2nd World War, the RAF used it as a convalesence home. After the war, St Germain's was converted to private flats. |
