Summary

Description
English: Headrace and wheel house at Spalding Power Plant and Dam complex in Spalding, Nebraska; seen from the west (upstream). Water is diverted from the Cedar River into a headrace; passes through a hydroelectric generator in the wheel house; and returns to the river via the tailrace. The complex is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The wheel house was built in 1913. The concrete-block building partially visible at left contains a diesel generator; it was built in 1919.
