Summary
| Description |
English: Southernhay West, Exeter. Part of the late C18 Georgian terrace that still lines much of the western side of Southernhay, backing onto the city walls. The ornate door surrounds are made of Coade stone, an early ceramic stoneware, and the keystones have faces made from a small number of different moulds (see 236089 for a close-up on one in Palace Gate). As can be seen from the new building on the extreme right, WW2 bomb damage destroyed the northern end of the terrace. |
