Summary

Description The Joseph T. Smitherman Historic Building in Selma, Alabama. Built in 1847, it has served as a Confederate hospital, the Dallas County Courthouse, a Presbyterian high school for boys and again as a hospital until the city bought it in 1968. It currently houses the Vaughan-Smitherman Museum.
