Notes The group of hunters resting after the hunt includes Krøyer himself in the extreme right (lying) and Michael Ancher seated left of, and above, him. Others left to right: Degn Brøndum, owner of Brøndum hotel, is at the extreme left, architect Ulrik Plesner (lying on his stomach), artist Einar Hein, Skagen's city treasurer Hans Brodersen, and overplantør C.F. Dahlerup.

This oil painting, by P.S Krøyer, depicts his hunter friends and himself having a rest after a long day of hunting. This is one of the few paintings during the realism time period that depict people having a positive time.
