Summary

Description

Derivative work of File:Virus_Replication.svg. Use of single particle analysis (SPA), in this example to improve image acquisition of viruses. Image is slightly misleading -- usually SPA is an averaging filter coupled to a pattern recognition algorithm, and thus does not enhance image quality (deblurring), but rather improves signal to noise in weakly stained viruses.

Of course deconvolution techniques can be used to deblur the SPA image, and thus enhance spatial resolution, so this image is not wholly incorrect.
