Summary

Description Photo of the Denver and Rio Grande's glass-topped observation car "Silver Vista". The railroad built the car to attract tourists in 1947, but it was destroyed by a fire in 1953. A working replica of it wasn't built until 2006.
Date (car built) to 1953 (destroyed by fire). Back of the card text says the car was still on the rails.
