Description: Sergeant Harris, posed with a Sharps repeating rifle, was a member of the 10th U.S. Cavalry Regiment, one of the four original 'Buffalo Soldier' units in the U.S. Army. He served in Texas and the Indian Territory during the numerous conflicts with the Comanches and Kiowas on the southern plains.
