Rationale for use on Wikipedia:[edit]

1. No free equivalent exists that would effectively identify the article's subject.

Resolution:[edit]

The copy is of sufficient resolution for commentary and identification but lower resolution than the original. Copies made from it will be of inferior quality, unsuitable as artwork on pirate versions or other uses that would compete with the commercial purpose of the original artwork.

As a licensed image, the image is not replaceable by free content; any other image that shows the images from the site would also be copyrighted, and any version that is not true to the original would be inadequate for identification or commentary.

It is believed that the use of a limited number of low-resolution screenshots for critical commentary and discussion of the film and its contents on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, qualifies as fair use under the Copyright law of the United States.
