Description

Nombre:Sembrador de Estrellas. Artista:Alonso Rios Vanegas. Técnica:Fundición en bronce a la Cera Perdida. Material:Bronce. Ubicación: Universidad de Antioquia, Medellin, Colombia

Esta obra fue elaborada para conmemorar los 50 años de existencia de la Facultad de Ingeniería. Fue fundida en el Departamento de Metalurgia de la misma Facultad por el grupo de la Cera Perdida. Tiene un peso aproximado de 300 Kg. Para fundirla se utilizaron cerca de 900 Kg de distintos materiales que se emplearon en una sola operación, sin empates ni ensamblajes; por ello marcó la historia de la fundición en Colombia, ya que es la única escultura de esas proporciones que se ha fundido de una sola vez.

La escultura se constituye como un homenaje al maestro, representando un personaje que siembra luz, crecimiento y estrellas. Es una reflexión de los que debe ser el maestro y no una reconciliación con él.
