Summary

Description
English: Washington Shoe Building, 400 Occidental Way South in the Pioneer Square neighborhood, Seattle, Washington, USA. Also known as J. M. Frink Building / Washington Iron Works / Washington Shoe Mfg. Company Building / Washington Shoe Company Building / "The Shoe".

Visible signs from former tenants say "Dago Durneden Co. Mfgrs. Green Hood Shirts", "The Washington Shoe Mfg. Co." On the corner is a Starbucks. To its right is Ebbets Field Flannels, which manufactures and retails replicas of old professional baseball uniforms.

Built 1892, remodeled many times (including two storeys added in 1912, and some art deco detailing later). Many manufacturing and warehouse uses, then for many years this was a warren of small artist studios (with retail space on the ground floor pretty much throughout). Rehabbed as offices circa 2000.

For more information see Summary for 400 Occidental WAY / Parcel ID 5247800735, Seattle Department of Neighborhoods.
