Description
Die 2. preußische Armee (Kronprinzenarmee) hatte durch ihr rechtszeitiges Eingreifen die Schlacht entschieden. Beim Wiedersehen auf dem Schlachtfeld übereichte der König tief ergriffen dem Kronprinzen den Orden "Pour le merite". Generalstabschef Helmuth Moltke ist am linken Bildrand zu erkennen.
