Sketch of a current-voltage (I-V) curve for a superconducting tunnel junction (STJ). The Cooper pair tunneling current is seen at V = 0, and the quasiparticle tunneling current is seen for V larger than twice the superconducting energy gap. By D.F. Santavicca.
