English: The cargo ship Western Spirit just after completion by the w:Northwest Steel Company at Portland, w:Oregon, apparently while still SS Western Spirit. She is painted in pattern w:camouflage. She was commissioned into United States Navy service as USS Western Spirit (ID-3164) on 30 July 1918.
