Description SC-1280 patrolling off the coast of Massachusetts, one of thirty submarine chasers built at Elizabeth City Shipyard. The shipyard not only produced the most subchasers during World War II of any single shipyard (30 out of 438) but also holds a record speed for construction, with SC-740 laid down in only thirty days.
