Summary

Description
English: Rye: The Runcible Spoon pub. Located 62 Cinque Ports Street, Rye, East Sussex. It is a Grade II listed building and dates from the early 1800's. This stretch of road, running alongside the partly existing town wall, was once used to twist and make the ropes for fishing and agricultural purposes. The Runcible Spoon was invented by Edward Lear, which is in his poem 'The Owl and the Pussycat'.
