Description Lot 3447-6: Royal Navy battleship HMS Formidable, starboard bow view. On January 1, 1915, she was sunk by two German torpedoes while performing exercises in the English Channel. Halftone image from the Booklet “The Great War in Pictures” showing the activities of the German armed forces during World War in 1915. These were intended for propaganda purposes.
