Rotifer.jpg(236 × 152 pixels, file size: 6 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

  • A rotifer taken from standing water. This is probably a Philodina, placed among the bdelloids, and interesting class that does not produce males. Its corona is extended to the upper left, and creates a current that draws small particles of food into the pharynx. Photo by Josh Grosse, 2004.
