Other information

Historically significant image of only reform mayor of Miami (1957-1967), who was responsible for bringing Miami from the age of segregation to the age of integration, and who embraced Cuban exiles. Ran for governor twice despite threats from segregationists in north Florida and was defeated by opponents playing "race card." Photographs of him are for some reason virtually non-existent (see existing photo at bottom of article -- subject is on far left and half cut off).
