O Canal do Cassiquiare, em cor preta, correndo para o Sul, resulta da captura em andamento do Alto Rio Orinoco, que cruza a imagem da direita para esquerda, com ilhas de areia em branco, pelo Rio Negro, tributário do Rio Amazonas / Ongoing River Capture in the Amazon. Casiquiare Canal, in black, running South, results from High Orinoco River, crossing image from right to left, with sand islands in white, capture by Amazon River tributary Negro River.
