Description
English: Richard V de Grenville (fl.1295), lord of the manors of Bideford in Devon and Kilkhampton in Cornwall, husband of Jane Trewent. On the escutcheon are displayed the arms of Grenville (Gules, three clarions or) impaling Three eagles displayed with two heads gules (Trewent of Blisland, Cornwall). Detail from 1st (east) Grenville Window (1860) in south wall of Grenville Chapel, Church of St James the Great, Kilkhampton, Cornwall. Window erected in 1860 jointly by descendants of of John Granville, 1st Earl of Bath (1628-1701), of Stowe, Kilkhampton:

  • John Alexander Thynne, 4th Marquess of Bath (1831–1896);
