Summary

Description
English: The Genoese Lighthouse in Constanţa, Romania; in the background, the headquarters of the Romanian Navy and its modern radio tower.

The present structure of the Genoese Lighthouse dates from the middle of the 19th century, when is was restored by the French engineer Artin Aslan; the original lighthouse is supposed to have been built sometime during the 13th century.

The building of the Navy Headquarters dates from 1860; it was originally a posh hotel, first named Terminus (because it was near the terminus of a railway), then Carol (after the king).
