Summary

Description
English: This image shows a road cut along State Road 4 on Thompson Ridge, near La Cueva, New Mexico, USA. The cut exposes a flow of the Redondo Creek Rhyolite, the the second of two members of the Valles Rhyolite (the other being the Deer Canyon) that were erupted onto the caldera floor shortly after the Valles caldera eruption 1.25 million years ago. This flow is dated as 1.239 million years old, and was likely erupted contemporaneously with resurgence in the caldera.
