English: Rainey Endowed School, Magherafelt. The founder, Mr. Hugh Rainey left his estate to trustees for the purpose of building a school to help the poor boys of his town have free education. The first 8 boys started in November 1713. Female pupils were not allowed to attend until 1894. |
