Potrivit anexei nr. 1.2, stema comunei Ghiroda se compune dintr-un scut triunghiular cu marginile rotunjite, tăiat.

În partea superioară, în câmp albastru, se află o cruce bizantină de aur, flancată de două aripi de argint.

În vârful scutului, câmpul auriu este străbătut de o bandă ondulată albastră.

Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu un turn crenelat.

Semnificațiile elementelor însumate

Crucea de aur reprezintă cele 12 monumente creștine ridicate în cinstea eroilor piloților militari din cadrul unității de aviație care au căzut la datorie în cele două războaie mondiale, precum și în cinstea eroilor Revoluției din decembrie 1989.

Cele două aripi de argint se identifică cu activitatea Aeroportului Internațional "Traian Vuia" Timișoara.

Banda ondulată albastră simbolizează râul Bega, care străbate sudul localității, iar câmpul auriu reprezintă belșugul cerealelor cultivate în zonă.

Coroana murală cu un turn crenelat semnifică faptul că localitatea are rangul de comună.
