Description
English: Rıza Derviş House, also known as Derviş Manizade Mansion, built 1956-1957, is one of two buildings designed by Sedad Hakkı Eldem that was realized on Büyükada. Eldem was inspired by modernist architecture, which is evident not only in the architecture of the house, but also in the simplicity of of the garden and its furniture. Rıza Derviş House is considered an experimental project in rationalism, a trend that became popular after World War II.

1956-1957’de inşa edilen ve Derviş Manizade Köşkü olarak da bilinen Rıza Derviş Evi, Sedad Hakkı Eldem’in Büyükada’da yaptığı iki binadan biridir. Eldem, binanın tasarımında genel tarzı olarak bilinen “Türk evi” yorumlamasının dışına çıkarak modernist mimarlıktan esinlenmiştir. Tasarım anlayışındaki yalınlık, kütlesel ölçekten bahçe mobilyalarına tüm ayrıntılarda belirgindir. Rıza Derviş Evi, mimarın İkinci Dünya Savaşı sonrası rasyonalist eğilim doğrultusundaki denemelerinden biri olarak nitelendirilir.
