Summary

Description
English: A crude example of the usefulness of 802.1QnQ. A Service Provide (SP) is shown connecting two customers' ("Acme" and "XYZ") networks in a sort of L2 VPN. The customers run multiple VLAN's (single tagged traffic) into the SP switches; the SP switches send QinQ encapsulated traffic to one another; each customer has his own outer tag VLAN id, to segregate traffic.

This diagram image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “QinQ-example-simple-SP-cloud.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
