Description
Español: Vista al daguerrotipo, de Barcelona, en 1848. Uno de los primeros daguerrotipos conservados en España. "Vista de la casa Xifré" (sic), pero que en realidad es la vecina "Casa Vidal Quadras", de Barcelona. La imagen está invertida lateralmente (dato esencial, para comprobar que no es exactamente la Casa Xifré). Además, si fuese la casa Xifré tendría que tener planta totalmente rectangular, con esquinas en ángulo recto, sin chafán, y una rica decoración entre los arcos, con medallones y otros motivos ornamentales. Por todo ello no es la Casa Xifré. Sin duda, es la Casa Vidal Quadras, edificada también por un indiano (antiguo emigrante enriquecido en América). (Puede comprobarse muy bien "navegando" en Google maps, en Barcelona, por el Passeig d'Isabel II, recorriendo todos los porches y arcos, a nivel de calle, y desde lo alto). Colección particular.
